Azure Striker Gunvolt for Nintendo 3DS

About Azure Striker Gunvolt for Nintendo 3DS

Azure Striker Gunvolt stars a young adept whose power over lightning makes him a target for the mighty Sumeragi Group. Working with the resistance group QUILL, Gunvolt takes on missions against fellow adepts while protecting a girl whose song can control others of their kind. The story mixes anime drama with real heart, and the cast of bosses is colorful, strange and memorable.

Gunvolt tags enemies with shots, then unleashes lightning that seeks every tagged foe at once, which makes clearing a screen feel amazing. Dashing through danger without taking damage builds your score and your confidence. Each boss demands careful study, since their huge attacks fill the screen in wild patterns. It is a short game built for mastery, and replaying stages for better ranks stays fun for a long time. There is a gentle learning curve at the start, and the early stages do a kind job of teaching every important rule through play.

Buying Azure Striker Gunvolt today takes a little patience. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible. The honest way to play now is a physical cartridge bought from a retailer or a trusted game shop. People who bought the game digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games on their system, so long time owners have not lost their copies.

It earns its place in any thoughtful handheld collection.
