SteamWorld Heist takes the steampunk robots into space, where Captain Piper Faraday and her scruffy crew rob ships to survive after their world fell apart. Water is precious, the Royal Space Force is hunting them, and every raid is a gamble. The story has the charm of a Saturday morning space serial, with brave robots, pompous villains and plenty of dry humour. Piper is a captain worth following, and her growing crew of misfits gives the missions heart. Between heists, the crew plans, shops and argues aboard their little ship among the stars.

Battles are turn based with a brilliant twist, because every shot is aimed by hand. Bullets ricochet off walls and ceilings, so a clever angle can drop an enemy hiding behind solid cover. Each crew member brings a different weapon and role, from snipers to heavy bruisers, and hats collected in battle are proudly worn as trophies. Positioning, timing and nerve decide every firefight. Levels are built to reward bold plans, and a mission gone wrong can still turn into a legendary story when one perfect bouncing shot saves the whole crew.
