About Yo Kai Watch for Nintendo 3DS
Yo Kai Watch begins when a boy named Nate frees a spirit butler called Whisper from a capsule machine in the woods. Whisper gives him the Yo Kai Watch, a device that reveals invisible Yo Kai, the spirits behind everyday troubles like lost keys, sudden hunger and bad moods. With his new friends, Nate explores the town of Springdale, solving odd problems and meeting creatures that range from silly to surprisingly touching. It is a bright role playing adventure built on curiosity and kindness.
Battles play out with a team of six Yo Kai, three fighting up front while you rotate the wheel to swap in fresh fighters. Each Yo Kai has a Soultimate move charged over time, and the touch screen adds tracing, spinning and tapping actions during big attacks and care moments. Befriending new Yo Kai fills your medallium, and side quests across town hide many of the best recruits. The setting feels like a real neighborhood, with schools, shops and secrets tucked behind everyday corners.

Springdale is still open to players who plan well today. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible. The physical cartridge sold widely and remains one of the easier games in this list to find at fair prices. If you bought the digital version during the store years, you can still access their purchased games on your Nintendo 3DS whenever a Yo Kai hunt calls you back to town and its many hidden corners.
Every bad day in Springdale has a spirit behind it.
