Xenoblade Chronicles 3D for Nintendo 3DS

About Xenoblade Chronicles 3D for Nintendo 3DS

Xenoblade Chronicles 3D shrinks one of the most loved role playing games of its era onto a handheld. The world sits on the bodies of two sleeping titans, Bionis and Mechonis, locked in an ancient grudge. Shulk, a gentle young researcher, takes up the Monado, a sword that grants visions of the future, after machines attack his home. His journey with Reyn, Fiora and new allies crosses plains, forests and shining cities, all built on a scale that still feels impossible for the small screen.

Battles happen in real time as you move around enemies, manage party roles and fire off arts in smart order. Shulk visions warn of deadly attacks seconds before they land, giving you a chance to warn allies or change the outcome. Exploration is the soul of the game, with vast regions, hundreds of small quests and collectibles scattered across every hillside. A model viewer and music player reward fans, and the story balances quiet friendship with huge revelations about the titans themselves.

This handheld edition now lives in the second hand world. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible. A physical cartridge was released and is prized by collectors, so expect some hunting and shop around with care. Owners of the digital version from the store years can still access their purchased games on their system today. Note it needs the newer Nintendo 3DS models, since the standard older systems cannot run it.

Few handheld journeys feel this vast or this warm.
