Shinobi on Nintendo 3DS revives one of Sega’s oldest action heroes. You play Jiro Musashi, father of the original series hero, a ninja who defends his village and then pursues the enemy forces across burning lands, rivers and future battlefields. The story is told with stylish comic panels and wastes little time, keeping the focus on the mission ahead. It is a proud return for a series built on speed, precision and very little mercy for careless players.

This is side view action in the classic mold, mixing sword combos, kunai throws, wall climbing and double jumps. A parry move lets skilled players block at the last moment and answer with heavy damage, and long combo chains raise your score and your rewards. Stages hide scrolls and secrets for explorers, while achievements push you to master each level. Be warned, the difficulty is serious and proud of it, which is exactly what long time Shinobi fans wanted from this revival.
