Trine 2 Director's Cut follows three heroes bound together by a magical artifact called the Trine. A brave knight, a clever thief and an old wizard travel through a kingdom threatened by goblins and dark growth. Every scene looks like a page from a storybook, with glowing forests, ruined castles and giant creatures painted in rich color. The Director's Cut gathers the main adventure and extra chapters into one package, and the Wii U GamePad adds touch controls that fit the magic perfectly. It remains one of the prettiest games on the system.

The three heroes each solve problems in their own way. The wizard conjures boxes and planks, the thief swings from her grappling rope and fires arrows, and the knight blocks attacks and smashes obstacles. You switch between them freely, or share them with friends in local and online co op for up to three players. Puzzles reward creativity, since a stack of boxes, a rope swing or a levitated platform can all open the way. Combat is simple but lively, and hidden experience vials encourage careful exploring of every gorgeous corner.
