Super Mario 3D World for Nintendo Wii U

About Super Mario 3D World for Nintendo Wii U

Super Mario 3D World begins when Mario, Luigi, Peach and Toad discover a broken clear pipe and meet a fairy princess begging for help. Bowser has captured her friends in bottles, so the heroes jump into the Sprixie Kingdom to set things right. Each world mixes grassy hills, snowy slopes, haunted houses and circus stages, all packed with secrets. Peach can float, Luigi jumps higher, Toad runs faster and Mario stays balanced, so every character feels worth trying on the colorful journey ahead.

The star addition is the Super Bell, which turns your hero into a cat that can climb walls, scratch enemies and dive through the air. Other power ups include cherry clones that copy your character and boxes that fire cannonballs or shine light. Stages are built for both solo play and lively four player sessions, where friends help and hinder each other in equal measure. Hunting green stars and stamps unlocks tougher bonus worlds. It is generous, polished platforming that keeps smiling from the first stage to the last.

Buying this game works differently today than it once did. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Wii U closed in March 2023, which means new digital purchases are no longer possible. Your best route now is a physical disc from a retailer, a local game store or a careful second hand purchase. Anyone who bought Super Mario 3D World digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games, so early owners are not locked out of their library.

Charming, honest fun from a system full of surprises.
