Transformers Rise of the Dark Spark for Nintendo Wii U

About Transformers Rise of the Dark Spark for Nintendo Wii U

Transformers Rise of the Dark Spark tells two linked stories, one on Cybertron and one on Earth, as both factions hunt a powerful relic called the Dark Spark. You play missions from both sides of the war, stepping into the armor of heroes and villains including Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Megatron and Soundwave. The Cybertron chapters carry the style of the earlier fan favorite games, while the Earth chapters follow the look of the films. Changing sides keeps the campaign feeling varied and gives every big character a moment.

Combat is third person shooting with transforming at the heart of every fight. You can switch to vehicle form mid battle to reposition, escape or ram through enemies, then change back to unleash heavy weapons. Each character brings ranged and melee options, and upgrade points let you strengthen your favorites. The Escalation mode returns for players who enjoy surviving waves with friends online, which added real staying power on release. Enemy variety grows from troopers to huge brutes, asking you to keep moving and use cover wisely between transformations.

This chapter is simple to track down even now. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Wii U closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible through that store. Fortunately a physical disc from a retailer is common and usually cheap, as the game sold widely at launch. Anyone who bought it digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games on their Wii U console.

Two wars, one relic and plenty of transforming action throughout.
