About Pokemon Moon for Nintendo 3DS
Pokemon Moon takes the series to Alola, a chain of tropical islands inspired by Hawaii, and flips the series clock so the adventure runs twelve hours apart from real time, putting much of your journey under moonlight. You play a young Trainer new to the islands, taking on the island challenge, a rite of passage built around trials rather than gyms. Each trial is run by a captain and ends with a battle against a mighty Totem Pokemon. Along the way, Team Skull causes trouble and a strange girl named Lillie guards a secret in her bag.
Alola feels alive with its own culture. Regional variant Pokemon reinvent old favorites with new types and personalities, while Z Moves let each Pokemon unleash one spectacular attack per battle. Ride Pokemon replace the old hidden machines, so you surf on Lapras and smash rocks with Tauros instead of filling move slots with chores. The story leans into mystery and family, with creatures from another dimension slowly entering the tale. Trials, kahunas and the island rhythm give Moon a warm identity that separates it from every journey before it.

These days, Pokemon Moon is a cartridge hunt. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible for anyone. The honest way to play now is a physical cartridge from a retailer or a trusted used game shop. If you bought the game digitally before the closure, you can still access your purchased games on your system whenever you like.
Alola under moonlight is a place worth dreaming about.
