Monster Hunter X for Nintendo 3DS

About Monster Hunter X for Nintendo 3DS

Monster Hunter X is the Japanese original of the game the west knows as Generations, and the X in its name stands for cross, a meeting point for the whole series. Hunters gather in Bherna and journey between villages from earlier games, taking quests that celebrate a decade of hunting. Four flagship monsters headline the adventure, from the elegant Mizutsune to the brutal Glavenus, whose tail burns like a blade. The mood is festive and generous, with a huge roster and a clear love for everything the series had built by then.

Styles and arts define this edition. Each weapon can be paired with guild, striker, aerial or bushido styles, completely changing your movement, combos and confidence in a fight. Hunting arts charge as you battle and release dramatic special attacks, from healing bursts to huge strikes. Prowler mode returns as well, letting you quest as a Felyne with support moves and endless stamina.

The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible. The honest way to play now is a physical cartridge from a retailer. This cartridge is fully in Japanese, as the western release used a different name, so imports are the normal route and region matching matters for online play. Anyone who bought it digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games.

Cross the styles, cross the villages and cross swords with legends.
