Excave II: Wizard of the Underworld for Nintendo 3DS

About Excave II: Wizard of the Underworld for Nintendo 3DS

Excave II Wizard of the Underworld continues the dungeon story of the first Excave, sending heroes back below the surface where a powerful wizard now threatens the world from the underworld. The halls are darker, the monsters are meaner and the stakes are higher than the rescue mission that came before it.

Real time combat stays at the center, with a wider choice of weapons and spells to find and master. Character growth and equipment choices matter more this time, since enemies hit harder and floors hide nastier traps. The loop of descend, fight, loot and return remains easy to enjoy in short bursts. Fans of the first game will find a sterner test waiting in the deep. Difficulty stays fair throughout, asking for patience and learning rather than luck, which makes every success feel earned. The pacing is thoughtful as well, mixing quiet moments with stronger challenges so the adventure never feels flat or rushed.

There is one important thing to know before you go hunting for a copy. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible. A physical cartridge is the honest way in now, whether it comes from a retailer with old stock or a trusted used game seller with a fair record. Those who picked it up digitally years ago can still access their purchased games, as purchases made before the closure remain available to their owners.

It is a game that still rewards anyone willing to seek it out.
