Disney Art Academy for Nintendo 3DS

About Disney Art Academy for Nintendo 3DS

Disney Art Academy turns your Nintendo 3DS into a friendly art classroom filled with beloved characters. A patient instructor leads you through lessons that start with simple shapes and build toward complete drawings of Mickey Mouse, Elsa, Winnie the Pooh and many others. The lessons borrow from real art teaching, showing how rough guide lines become clean finished art, and the Disney cast keeps every step cheerful for learners of all ages.

You work with a toolbox that mimics real materials, including pencils, colored pencils, pastels, markers and paint. Each tool behaves a little differently on the touch screen, and the stylus makes careful strokes easy. Lessons unlock in a gentle order, moving from faces and expressions to full scenes, and a free paint mode lets you draw whatever you like once class is over. Finished pieces can be saved and shared, which gives young artists a real sense of pride. Seeing a rough sketch become a finished hero is magical.

Art supplies for this classroom now come from the used market. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so a brand new digital copy is no longer possible to buy. A physical cartridge is easy to find through retailers, since the game was popular with families and schools. Players who bought it digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games and keep drawing as before.

A gentle class that really does teach drawing.
