Ace Combat 3D: Cross Rumble for Nintendo 3DS

About Ace Combat 3D: Cross Rumble for Nintendo 3DS

Ace Combat 3D: Cross Rumble brings the famous jet combat series to the 3DS with missions built for the small screen. You fly modern fighters through story driven battles over oceans, cities and mountain ranges, locking onto enemy aces and dodging streams of missiles. The sense of speed is strong, and the 3D effect gives real depth to every dive and banking turn as the horizon tilts beneath you.

Missions mix straight dogfighting with bombing runs, escorts and tense duels against named rival pilots. Between sorties you choose your aircraft and weapons, weighing speed against power for the job ahead. Quick maneuvers let skilled players flip behind a target in a flash, and downing an ace in a swirling fight feels earned. Radio chatter and a serious story of war in a fictional world give the action real weight. Playing in handheld mode suits it well, since single missions are sized for a commute while the full campaign still feels like a proper epic.

Pilots today will need to source a physical copy. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible for this title. A physical cartridge from a retailer is the honest way to fly now. Aces who bought it digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games on their systems.

A strong pocket sized take on a beloved flying series.
