Pokemon Sun for Nintendo 3DS

About Pokemon Sun for Nintendo 3DS

Pokemon Sun opens the seventh generation under the bright skies of Alola, a tropical island region where Pokemon and people live closely together. You are a newcomer who has just moved to Melemele Island, and after meeting Professor Kukui and receiving your first partner, you begin the island challenge, a coming of age journey of trials set by captains on each island. Cheerful Hau races alongside you as a friend and rival, while Lillie, a shy girl hiding a mysterious Pokemon in her bag, gives the story its emotional heart.

Alola changes many series habits for the better. Gyms give way to trials and Totem Pokemon battles, ride Pokemon replace hidden machines, and Z Moves give every team one dazzling attack per battle. Regional variants reinvent classic Pokemon for island life, like an Alolan Raichu surfing on its own tail. The Rotom Pokedex talks, jokes and guides you across the islands, and the Festival Plaza connects you with other players. Beneath the sunshine, a story about family, research and visitors from another world gives Sun surprising depth for such a bright game.

The modern route to Pokemon Sun runs through a cartridge slot. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible anywhere. The honest way to play now is a physical cartridge from a retailer or a reliable used game seller. Digital buyers from before the closure can still access their purchased games, keeping their original copies alive and well.

Sunshine, friendship and adventure in perfect balance.
