Paper Mario: Super Seal for Nintendo 3DS
About Paper Mario: Super Seal for Nintendo 3DS
Paper Mario Super Seal is the Japanese release of the adventure known in the west as Paper Mario Sticker Star. Seal is the Japanese word for sticker, and the name fits a game where stickers rule everything. Bowser disrupts the Sticker Fest and scatters the Royal Stickers, sending Mario and the fairy Kersti across a papercraft kingdom to set things right. Towns, deserts, forests and snowy peaks all look handmade, like pages from a pop up book.
Combat and puzzles both grow from the sticker idea. Attacks are stickers stored in your album, so the ones you collect while exploring decide how strong you fight. Oversized Thing stickers, made from real world objects, open paths and turn boss fights into jokes with teeth. Paperization lets Mario peel flat scenery and place stickers into the world itself. As the Japanese original edition, it offers the same charming adventure in its home language form, a nice piece of series history for collectors and curious fans.

For new owners, cartridges are the answer today. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible. A physical cartridge from a retailer keeps things honest and simple, and boxed copies look great on a shelf too. Those who bought the game digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games whenever they like.
It is a fine reminder of the handheld golden years.
