Pac Man & Galaga Dimensions for Nintendo 3DS

About Pac Man & Galaga Dimensions for Nintendo 3DS

Pac Man and Galaga Dimensions pairs two of the most famous arcade names ever made and rebuilds them around the Nintendo 3DS hardware. The classic Pac Man maze chase and the original Galaga space shooting are here in faithful form, but the package is really about the new versions. Pac Man Tilt turns the whole maze with the tilt of the system, while Galaga 3D Impact puts you inside the cockpit for motion aimed shooting.

Between the classics and the experiments there is plenty to play. Pac Man Championship Edition style speed play appears in adapted form, and score chasing sits at the center of every mode. The gyroscope and cameras are used with real imagination, making the handheld itself part of the game. Sessions are short and score boards invite one more try. For arcade fans, the pleasure is seeing two old friends behave in ways the original cabinets could never have imagined, while still feeling true to their roots.

Genre	Arcade
Publisher	Bandai Namco

Release	2011
Available on	Physical copies for Nintendo 3DS

There is one honest route to a copy today. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible. A physical cartridge from a retailer is the way to go, and the market for classic handheld games stays lively. If you bought the game digitally before the closure, you can still access your purchased games on your own system.

This is one to treasure on the shelf and screen.
