New Super Mario Bros. U for Nintendo Wii U

About New Super Mario Bros. U for Nintendo Wii U

New Super Mario Bros. U launched with the Wii U and gave Mario a grand side scrolling adventure. Bowser does not bother with kidnapping this time; he simply throws Mario and his friends far across the kingdom, and the long run home begins. The world map connects every course into one big land, with sparkling plains, a soda jungle and frosted glaciers along the way. Baby Yoshis join the journey, each with a helpful power, and the whole game glows with crisp and colorful detail.

The platforming feels classic yet polished. The Flying Squirrel suit lets you glide and cling to walls, while hidden Star Coins and secret exits reward players who poke into every corner. Up to five players can join, with a GamePad player placing blocks to help or hinder the runners. Challenge mode adds time attacks, coin battles and daring one life runs for experts. The Wii U GamePad also allows the full game to move off the television, which is perfect for busy homes.

An honest note for buyers today. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Wii U closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible. The honest way to play now is a physical disc at a retailer, and used copies are easy to find at kind prices. Players who bought the game digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games on their console. Few Wii U discs offer better value for families.

The long run home has never looked this good.
