Mutant Mudds is a loving tribute to the platform games of the past, built with crisp pixel art and a very modern trick. A meteor has crashed nearby and muddy alien creatures called Mutant Mudds are oozing across the land. Young hero Max grabs his water cannon and jetpack and sets out to collect the scattered Water Sprites that can clean up the mess. The adventure looks like a lost classic from a 16 bit afternoon, right down to its cheerful chiptune music and its hero in a simple orange hoodie.

The clever idea is depth. Special pads launch Max between the background, the main path and the foreground, and every level is built in three layers that hide secrets in plain sight. Water blasts dissolve muddy enemies, while spikes, pits and moving platforms guard the sprites. Hidden doors lead to special retro stages styled after old handheld and virtual console eras, each with its own colors and rules.
