Monster Hunter XX for Nintendo 3DS

About Monster Hunter XX for Nintendo 3DS

Monster Hunter XX is the expanded Japanese follow up to Monster Hunter X, doubling down on everything players loved. Two new hunting styles join the four from before, a new hub village and airship base open their doors, and the fearsome elder dragon Valstrax becomes the flagship, a rocket like beast that streaks across the sky. G rank returns for hunters who cleared everything the first game offered, and old villages and monsters from across the series round out a package that feels like a grand finale for the handheld era.

The brave style rewards aggressive play by building power as you fight boldly, while the alchemy style supports the team with crafted items made mid hunt. Returning styles and arts all come back, so a hunter can build a truly personal fighting approach. New Deviants and tougher variants of classic monsters fill the upper quest ranks, and Prowler players gain new support moves of their own.

Buying this game has changed since launch. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, which means new digital purchases are no longer possible at all. A physical cartridge from a retailer is the honest way to play it today. No official western version of this exact edition appeared on this system, so the Japanese cartridge is the one collectors import, with all text in Japanese. Players who bought it digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games.

Twice the styles, twice the hunts and one rocket powered dragon.
