Monster Hunter 4G for Nintendo 3DS
About Monster Hunter 4G for Nintendo 3DS
Monster Hunter 4G is the expanded Japanese edition of Monster Hunter 4, released in the west as Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. It keeps the caravan journey and the Frenzy virus story, then adds the punishing G rank, new subspecies and fresh story chapters for hunters who finished the original. Dundorma, a grand city built around an ancient tower, becomes the center of the late adventure as an elder dragon threat grows. For players in Japan, this was the complete version of the fourth generation, packed with hundreds of hours of hunts.
Everything that made the fourth game special returns with more on top. Mounting monsters, leaping attacks and vertical arenas keep fights fast and physical, while the insect glaive and charge blade offer two deep new fighting styles. G rank monsters hit harder, move faster and demand fully upgraded gear forged from rare materials. New and returning monsters fill out the roster, and guild quests stretch the challenge almost endlessly.

For anyone shopping today, one fact matters most. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible. The honest option is a physical cartridge from a retailer you trust. Collectors should note the text is fully Japanese on this cartridge, and imported boxed copies are common, since this edition sold in very large numbers in Japan. People who bought the game digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games whenever they like.
The complete fourth generation hunt, in its original Japanese form.
