Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash for Nintendo Wii U

About Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash for Nintendo Wii U

Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash brings the Mushroom Kingdom back to the court for fast and flashy tennis. Mario, Peach, Bowser and the gang trade volleys across colorful stadiums where the rules bend in silly ways. The headline act is the Mega Mushroom, which grows your player to a giant who covers the court and smashes balls with terrifying power. It is tennis with a Mario grin, simple to start and joyful to watch.

Shot types sit on the buttons, so lobs, slices and flat shots are always one press away once you learn the color code. Chance Shots reward players who stand in glowing spots, turning defense into thunderous winners. Modes cover singles and doubles, with online play, knockout challenges and amiibo partners you can train into a doubles ally. The cast plays differently too, from speedy all rounders to heavy power hitters. Matches stay quick and punchy, ideal for short sessions with friends on the couch.

Think physical if you want to play this today. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Wii U closed in March 2023, ending new digital purchases for good. A physical disc from a retailer is the honest route, and the second hand market is full of Wii U discs at kind prices. If you picked it up digitally before the closure, you can still access your purchased games.

Grab your racket, watch for the glow and smash it big.
