Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond the Myth for Nintendo 3DS

About Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond the Myth for Nintendo 3DS

Etrian Odyssey V Beyond the Myth is the western title of Etrian Odyssey V, set on the continent of Arcania beneath the great tree Yggdrasil. Four races share this land, and all of them tell the same legend, reach the top of the tree and your wish will come true. Your guild joins the race upward, floor by dangerous floor.

The western edition carries the full depth of the original, with race based creation, ten classes and legendary titles that reshape each role late in the journey. Mapping the tree by hand, avoiding or defeating FOE monsters and managing supplies keep every expedition tense. Union skills reward teamwork at the perfect moment. It is a complete and generous dungeon adventure for players who enjoy building a party with real care. Small details reward attention, from the way characters react to the little secrets placed for players who wander off the main path.

Playing it today starts with understanding one change. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, and new digital purchases are no longer possible on the system. Look instead for a physical cartridge at a retailer, in a game shop or from a trusted seller, and check the label, case and contacts before buying. Earlier digital owners are in a better spot, since people who bought the game before the closure can still access their purchased games.

Seek out a good cartridge and you will find a game worth keeping.
