Citadale: The Legends Trilogy for Nintendo Wii U

About Citadale: The Legends Trilogy for Nintendo Wii U

Citadale The Legends Trilogy collects three gothic action adventures starring Sonny, a vampire hunter in a land cursed by darkness. Armed with a trusty whip and a brave heart, he crosses haunted villages, castles and forests to face the creatures of the night. The trilogy format means three full adventures in one package, each with its own stages, enemies and bosses. The art and music proudly honor the classic monster hunting games of the eight bit and sixteen bit eras, with candles to whip and secrets hidden inside castle walls.

Gameplay is classic side scrolling action: walk, whip, jump and survive. Enemies test your timing, pits test your nerve and bosses test everything at once. Each entry in the trilogy grows a little bigger and bolder than the last, so playing them in order feels like watching a small series grow up. Hidden items reward players who whip suspicious walls, as tradition demands.

Since the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Wii U closed in March 2023, new digital purchases are no longer possible for this title. These days the sensible route is a physical disc from a retailer, new or second hand. Players who bought the game digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games, so long time owners lose nothing. Checking the disc condition and case before you buy is always a smart move with older Wii U releases like this one.

A fine choice for your next game night.
