Barbie: Groom and Glam Pups for Nintendo 3DS

About Barbie: Groom and Glam Pups for Nintendo 3DS

Barbie Groom and Glam Pups invites young players to run a puppy grooming salon with Barbie. Cute dogs arrive in need of a wash, a brush and a little style, and it is your job to send each one home looking fabulous. The game is gentle and bright, full of bows, sparkles and happy pups who clearly enjoy the attention.

You bathe puppies, trim and brush their coats, then choose collars, bows and accessories to finish the look. Different breeds arrive with different needs, and following each step carefully earns happy reactions and new items for the salon. There is no way to fail and no clock to beat, just calm creative play that animal loving children can enjoy at their own speed for as long as they like. It is the sort of modest and charming release that gave the handheld library so much of its character during its long life. The presentation makes smart use of the small screen, with clear menus and scenes that stay easy to read in handheld play.

Collectors still track down Barbie: Groom and Glam Pups, and they do it the physical way. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible for anyone. A physical cartridge from a retailer is the honest way to play today. Those who bought the game digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games, so early buyers remain well served.

Well worth seeking out for a quiet weekend of play.
