Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D for Nintendo 3DS

About Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D for Nintendo 3DS

Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D rebuilds the Wii hit for handheld play, keeping every stage of the Tikis versus Kongs adventure while adding the depth of the 3D screen. Donkey Kong and Diddy chase the stolen banana hoard across a wild island of jungles, cliffs, ruins and factories. The conversion keeps the speed and weight of the original, and playing it on a portable makes its short, punchy stages feel perfectly at home.

The headline addition is New Mode, which gives the Kongs extra hearts and helpful items so more players can finish this famously tough game. Veterans can still choose the original difficulty for the pure challenge. A bonus world with eight new stages rewards those who clear the main adventure, and collectibles like puzzle pieces and KONG letters fill every level for completion fans. Rocket barrel and mine cart stages remain heart pounding highlights from start to finish. New Mode opens the adventure to many more players.

This 3D edition is easy to add to a collection even now. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so a new digital purchase is no longer possible today. A physical cartridge is common in game shops and is the honest way to play the handheld version. Players who bought the game digitally before the shop closed can still access their purchased games on their Nintendo 3DS at any time.

The definitive portable version of a modern classic.
