Yo Kai Watch Busters: Akanekodan is the original Japanese release of the Red Cat Team adventure for Nintendo 3DS. Akanekodan is also a playable mode in the first Yo kai Watch sequel in Japan, and this standalone game expands it into a full action experience. Jibanyan leads the red team against rampaging boss Yo kai who threaten the peace of the town. The result is a funny, warm and energetic spin on the main series formula.

You fight in real time with a squad of four, guiding one Yo kai yourself while the others act on their own. Roles matter here, because attackers, tanks, healers and rangers each bring vital skills to hard missions. Friends can join through local wireless for the toughest boss battles, which were designed with team play in mind. Beaten bosses can sometimes join your side, steadily growing a roster you will want to show off.

As a Japanese release, this game takes some hunting today. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible at all. Owners who bought the game digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games on their system whenever they wish.
