Wipeout Create and Crash takes the television obstacle show and hands the toolbox to you. Alongside ready made courses, its big feature is a course creator that lets you build your own gauntlets of balls, sweepers and slides, then share them for others to attempt. Playing a course is only half the fun. Building one that looks fair but humiliates your best friend is the other half. The slapstick spirit of the show runs through everything, with every fall celebrated in slow playful fashion.

The creator gives you pieces to place, test and adjust until your course flows the way you want. You can run your creation, spot the unfair bits and tune them, or keep them unfair on purpose. Course builders can still join the fun physically. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Wii U closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible for this release. A physical disc from a retailer is the normal way in, and used copies circulate widely thanks to the show's fame. Anyone who bought it digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games on their console.
