The Denpa Men 2: Beyond the Waves for Nintendo 3DS

About The Denpa Men 2: Beyond the Waves for Nintendo 3DS

The Denpa Men 2: Beyond the Waves grows the odd idea of the first game into a full world adventure. Denpa Men are tiny beings who live inside radio waves, and you catch them by scanning your real surroundings with the 3DS camera. In this sequel your team sails across a wide ocean, visits towns and dives into dungeons to stop a new threat. A farming and fishing life waits between battles too, giving the quest a cozy side that fans loved.

Your party is made of the Denpa Men you catch, each with colors that resist certain attacks and skills of their own. Battles are quick turn based affairs where building a balanced team matters more than raw power. Exploring the real world for strong recruits is half the fun, since new places in real life mean new waves and new faces. Online battles let your team test itself against other players. It is a bigger and warmer game than the first, full of small surprises.

Beyond the Waves was a digital release on the 3DS shop in its day. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible now. Players who bought it before the closure can still access their purchased games on their system as normal. For new players, finding a used 3DS with this charming sequel installed is the practical way to set sail.

A bigger ocean, a bigger team and the same lovable weirdness.
