Taiko no Tatsujin: Don to Katsu no Jikuu Daibouken for Nintendo 3DS

About Taiko no Tatsujin: Don to Katsu no Jikuu Daibouken for Nintendo 3DS

Taiko no Tatsujin: Don to Katsu no Jikuu Daibouken is a time hopping rhythm adventure starring the drum brothers Don and Katsu. A small friend from the future needs their help, and the pair leap across eras to fix a broken timeline. One moment you are drumming in ancient lands, the next in a shining future city. The story stays light and funny, giving the huge song list a playful frame. For many fans outside Japan, this entry is a hidden gem of the 3DS library.

Gameplay follows the series recipe that millions love. Notes flow in from the right and you hit the drum center or rim on the beat, keeping combos alive and the soul gauge full. Songs cover Japanese pop, anime themes, game tracks and classical pieces given a Taiko twist. StreetPass and multiplayer options let drummers share the fun, and costumes dress Don for each era. Difficulty options welcome first timers while top charts push experts to their limits. Every clear feels like a small concert well played.

This time travelling entry never left Japan in stores. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible there. Importing a Japanese physical cartridge from a trusted retailer is the honest way to play it now. Players who picked up the digital release before the closure can still access their purchased games on their own system.

A joyful drum tour through history and the future alike.
