Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux for Nintendo 3DS
About Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux for Nintendo 3DS
Shin Megami Tensei Strange Journey Redux returns players to the Schwarzwelt, a black void spreading from Antarctica that threatens all life on Earth. As a member of an elite investigation team, you enter the void in a powered Demonica suit and find a maze of realms shaped by human excess. This Redux edition expands the original Nintendo DS adventure with full voice acting, new art touches, extra demons and a new character named Alex, whose sudden appearances raise questions nobody can answer at first.
The adventure is a first person dungeon journey, where you chart maze sectors filled with pitfalls, conveyor floors and hidden passages. Battles use a clever alignment system, where allies sharing your outlook join in with follow up strikes when you hit a weakness. Demon conversation and fusion remain central, and your suit gains apps that open new paths and tools. A new dungeon, the Womb of Grief, adds a serious challenge for experts. Redux also eases saving and travel, which suits handheld play very well.

One modern note for collectors: the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so Redux is no longer available as a new digital purchase. The reliable path is a physical cartridge, stocked by game shops and online sellers in most regions. Anyone who bought the digital release before the closure can still access their purchased games on their Nintendo 3DS. It launched late in the system life, so boxed copies are prized and worth comparing carefully.
Redux turns a cult classic into a complete modern package.
