Regular Show: Mordecai and Rigby in 8 Bit Land for Nintendo 3DS

About Regular Show: Mordecai and Rigby in 8 Bit Land for Nintendo 3DS

Mordecai and Rigby, the lazy groundskeepers from Regular Show, find a mysterious old game cartridge and get pulled straight into its pixel world. What starts as another attempt to dodge work turns into a rescue mission across strange digital lands. The game leans hard into retro style, mixing the humor of the cartoon with the look of classic portable games. Fans will spot familiar faces and jokes, while the simple setup works even for newcomers.

You swap between Mordecai and Rigby as you run through side scrolling stages, and each hero handles a little differently. Some sections play like a platformer, others borrow ideas from old space shooters and top down adventures, which keeps the pace lively. Power ups change how you attack, and boss fights close out each world with a silly challenge. The levels are short and punchy, built for handheld sessions, and the chiptune style music sells the retro mood from start to finish.

Tracking down a copy today is a physical hunt. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, which ended new digital purchases for good. A cartridge from a game shop or a reliable second hand listing is the way to play it now. People who bought the game digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games on their own systems, so long time fans keep their copy safe.

It is a short and silly treat for fans of the show.
