Pokémon Link: Battle! for Nintendo 3DS

About Pokémon Link: Battle! for Nintendo 3DS

Pokémon Link Battle is a fast and friendly puzzle game where Pokemon faces fill the screen and quick hands win the day. You slide faces around a grid to line up four matching Pokemon, which clears them and deals damage to the wild Pokemon you are trying to catch. Each successful catch adds that Pokemon to your collection, and with hundreds to gather the simple loop becomes quietly addictive on short trips or lazy evenings at home.

The clever part is support Pokemon, partners you set before a stage whose abilities can clear lines, heal your team or boost your attacks when the board gets messy. Wild Pokemon fight back by scrambling your grid and locking faces, so planning a few moves ahead really matters. Stages grow trickier as new Pokemon with cheeky tricks appear, and strong combos feel great to pull off. It is bright, snappy and far deeper than it first looks.

One fact shapes everything about buying this game now. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible at all. This release was digital only, with no cartridge version in shops, so access rests with the players who bought the game digitally before the closure, and they can still access their purchased games on their consoles.

A cheerful puzzle treat that Pokemon fans can enjoy in quick bursts.
