Osawari Tantei: Nameko Dai Hanshoku for Nintendo 3DS
About Osawari Tantei: Nameko Dai Hanshoku for Nintendo 3DS
Osawari Tantei Nameko Dai Hanshoku turns the world of the touch detective series toward raising mushrooms. The Nameko, those oddly cute mushroom folk, need a grand breeding season, and you are in charge of the growing fields. It is part collection game and part gentle puzzle, built around watching strange little fungi sprout in logs and jars. New varieties are the prize, and each one has a sillier face or costume than the last.
You prepare growing spots, manage conditions and harvest at the right moment to keep the Nameko happy and multiplying. Matching the right care to the right type brings rare mushrooms out to play, and filling the collection book becomes a quiet obsession. The detective cast appears to keep the mood familiar, with small scenes between harvests. Sessions can be as short as a quick check on your logs, which suits this kind of slow collection game perfectly. Few games ask so little and charm so much.

Buying a copy today takes a little care. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible. The honest way to play now is a physical cartridge from a retailer, and shops that sell older games often still stock copies. People who bought the game digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games on their system.
It is a fine reminder of the handheld golden years.
