Mother 3 tells the story of the Nowhere Islands, a peaceful place where people live close to nature and look after each other. Twins Lucas and Claus grow up in Tazmily Village with their parents, until strange soldiers in pig masks arrive and trouble begins. The tale moves through many chapters and many hearts, mixing gentle humor with moments of sadness. Creator Shigesato Itoi wrote a story that treats family and kindness with rare honesty. Few games earn their tears the way this one does.

Battles use a turn based system with a musical twist. Attacks land in rhythm with the battle music, and skilled players can chain long combos by tapping along with the beat. Each party member brings useful skills: Lucas heals and protects, Duster steals and climbs, and Boney the loyal dog sniffs out secrets. Exploring the islands reveals odd shops, chatty frogs that save your game and enemies as strange as a walking tree. The Wii U release in Japan let fans enjoy this adventure on the GamePad screen.
