Ishi Sengoku den Sadame for Nintendo 3DS
About Ishi Sengoku den Sadame for Nintendo 3DS
Ishi Sengoku den Sadame is set in a version of Japans Sengoku period where warlords battle for power and supernatural forces stir beneath the fighting. You choose one of four warriors, each tied to the era great conflicts, and carve a path through armies of soldiers and strange creatures. The story leans into famous names and rivalries from the period, giving history fans plenty to recognize. It is a Japanese action title that later reached western players, bringing its feudal drama and swordplay to a wider audience on the handheld.
Combat is fast hack and slash action viewed from above, with light and heavy attacks, special moves and screen clearing powers for desperate moments. Each of the four heroes plays differently, with their own weapons, stats and growth paths, so finishing one story invites you to start another. Loot drops constantly, letting you equip stronger gear and shape your fighter as stages grow tougher. Stages are short and punchy, which suits handheld sessions well. The challenge rises sharply in later chapters, asking you to master dodging and timing rather than simply mashing buttons.

Buying it today takes a different route than it once did. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, and new digital purchases are no longer possible at all. Look instead for a physical cartridge at a retailer or a reputable second hand shop. Anyone who bought the game digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games as before.
A sharp little samurai adventure for fans of the era.
