Gotouchi Tetsudou: Gotouchi Chara to Nihon Zenkoku no Tabi for Nintendo 3DS

About Gotouchi Tetsudou: Gotouchi Chara to Nihon Zenkoku no Tabi for Nintendo 3DS

Gotouchi Tetsudou is a Japanese board game about traveling the country by rail. Local mascot characters from different regions join you on the trip, each bringing regional charm and pride. You roll dice, ride trains between famous places and aim to visit landmarks across Japan. The game celebrates local food, festivals and sights, so a single match becomes a small tour of the whole country and its many beloved mascots.

Players move around the board collecting local goods and character cards while events shake up the standings. Some spaces bring bonuses, others bring trouble, and smart route choices help you reach goals before rivals do. Playing with friends or computer rivals keeps matches lively, since fortunes can change with one lucky roll. Bright art and cheerful music suit the travel theme, and Japanese players in particular will enjoy spotting mascots from their own home regions.

It is worth knowing how sales work for this title today. With the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed since March 2023, new digital purchases are no longer possible. A physical cartridge from a retailer is the honest way to play Gotouchi Tetsudou now, and complete copies are prized by collectors. People who bought the game digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games as usual. Playing on original hardware keeps the touch screen and 3D features working exactly as the makers intended.

It still stands as a small gem of the Nintendo 3DS years.
