Dragon Quest XI: Sugisarishi Toki o Motomete for Nintendo 3DS

About Dragon Quest XI: Sugisarishi Toki o Motomete for Nintendo 3DS

Sugisarishi Toki o Motomete, In Search of Departed Time, is the Japanese title of Dragon Quest XI. It tells the story of a young man from the village of Ishi who learns on his coming of age day that he is the Luminary, a hero of legend reborn. Accused by a fearful king, he flees across the land of Erdrea, gathering loyal companions as the truth slowly comes to light.

The 3DS version is special because it shows the world in two styles at once, with 3D scenes on one screen and classic 2D sprites on the other during key moments. Turn based battles, skill panels and a warm, funny party give the quest its heart. Local wireless features and the chance to visit past Dragon Quest worlds made this Japanese handheld edition a real treasure for fans. Difficulty stays fair throughout, asking for patience and learning rather than luck, which makes every success feel earned.

New players should know how things stand today. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, which means new digital purchases are no longer possible at all. Your best option now is a physical cartridge from a retailer or a reliable used game seller, ideally one you can inspect or return if something is wrong. If you bought it digitally in the past, you are fine, because owners from before the closure can still access their purchased games.

It remains an easy recommendation for anyone building a 3DS collection.
