Dai Gyakuten Saiban: Naruhodō Ryūnosuke no Bōken for Nintendo 3DS

About Dai Gyakuten Saiban: Naruhodō Ryūnosuke no Bōken for Nintendo 3DS

This courtroom adventure follows Ryunosuke Naruhodo, a young law student in Meiji era Japan who finds himself accused of a crime he did not commit. With no one else to defend him, he must stand up in court and argue his own case. That first trial changes his life and sets him on a journey that later carries him all the way to London. The writing mixes humor, sadness and real tension, and every case peels back another layer of a much bigger story.

Each case is split between investigation scenes and dramatic trials. You walk through crime scenes, question witnesses and gather evidence, then face them again on the witness stand. The fun lies in spotting the moment a testimony clashes with the facts and pressing the right piece of evidence at the right time. Juries and joint reasoning with a famous detective friend add fresh twists to the classic formula. It rewards patient readers who enjoy piecing clues together.

Finding a copy today takes a little patience. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so buying a fresh digital copy is no longer an option. A physical cartridge from a trusted game shop is the honest route now, and Japanese copies do turn up with collectors and import sellers. Anyone who bought the game digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games on their own system.

It remains one of the finest story adventures on the system.
