Cooking Mama 4 for Nintendo 3DS

About Cooking Mama 4 for Nintendo 3DS

Cooking Mama 4 brings Mama and her kitchen magic to the Nintendo 3DS, with a fresh menu of recipes to prepare using the touch screen and motion controls. Mama guides you through every dish with her usual warmth, cheering your successes and gently teasing your mistakes. Each recipe breaks into a series of playful mini games, from chopping vegetables at speed to flipping food in a pan at exactly the right moment. The 3D presentation and new kitchen tools gave the series a fresh serving on the new system.

Recipes range across breakfasts, dinners and desserts, and the better your timing, the shinier your result and medal will be. Some steps use the gyroscope, so you tilt the system to balance or toss ingredients, which makes the cooking feel physical and silly in the best way. A mode for playing against the clock and options to customize your kitchen and Mama keep things lively between dishes. Younger players get forgiving goals, while perfectionists can chase gold medals on every recipe in the book.

Family favorites like Mama belong in a physical collection. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible. Cartridges from retailers are easy to find and make a great gift for young chefs. Players who bought the game digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games on their 3DS, so their kitchen stays open whenever cooking inspiration strikes.

Better than Mama? Almost never, but trying is delicious fun.
