Choukaiten Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido for Nintendo 3DS

About Choukaiten Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido for Nintendo 3DS

Choukaiten Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido is the Japanese name for the fast and funny puzzle battler known in English as Sushi Striker. In its story, a mighty empire controls all the sushi in the land and ordinary people are forbidden from enjoying it. A brave young hero joins the resistance and fights for a world where everyone can eat sushi freely. Battles are fought on conveyor belts of moving plates, and the silly premise is played with total commitment, which makes the whole adventure feel like a cartoon you can play.

Gameplay is all about linking matching plates at speed. You drag across plates of the same color to stack them up, then fling the stack at your opponent to deal damage. Longer chains build taller stacks, and special sushi sprites grant powers that can clear plates, heal you or power up your throws. Timing matters too, because eating sushi at the right moment keeps your combo alive.

If you want the Japanese edition on your shelf, the cartridge is the way now. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible. Physical copies from a retailer remain easy to find for this title in several regions, which keeps it accessible. Players who bought the game digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games on their 3DS whenever the sushi craving strikes.

Ridiculous, rapid and secretly one of the smartest puzzlers on the system.
