Bravely Second End Layer returns to Luxendarc a few years after the first adventure. Agnes, now a peace leader, is kidnapped by the mysterious Kaiser Oblivion just as a treaty is about to be signed. Young guardsman Yew leads the rescue, joined by returning friends Edea and Tiz and the moon born Magnolia. The journey crosses new lands, strange dungeons and even stranger story twists. The tone balances heartfelt drama with playful humor, and the hand painted style looks better than ever.

The Brave and Default system returns with welcome additions. A victorious battle can trigger a bonus chance to fight again for greater rewards, at the risk of losing everything if you fall. New jobs like wizard, astrologian and catmancer join the returning favorites, pushing the total past thirty mixable roles. Chaining battles, building the moon base and hunting rare monsters fill the hours between story beats. Special moves and summons return with fresh customization for players who love fine tuning a party.
