Bloo Kid 2 for Nintendo 3DS

About Bloo Kid 2 for Nintendo 3DS

Bloo Kid 2 is a bright retro platformer with a simple rescue story. After a quiet life in the countryside, the hero watches a wizard snatch his family away, and the chase begins. You run through forests, caves, beaches and castles, stomping enemies and hunting for stars hidden in every stage. The look and sound proudly copy the golden age of sixteen bit platform games. It is cheerful, clear and welcoming from the very first jump.

Each world adds new tricks, from swimming stages to mine cart rides and tricky wall jumps. Big bosses guard the end of every world and ask you to learn their patterns. Stars and secret exits reward players who explore instead of rushing to the flag. The levels are a good size for handheld play, long enough to feel meaty and short enough for a bus ride. Extra challenge stages wait for players who collect enough stars across the adventure.

Platform fans after this one today should look for a cartridge. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible. The honest way to play now is a physical cartridge bought from a retailer or second hand seller. Anyone who bought the game digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games on their own system. It was a budget release, so loose copies often stay friendly in price.

It is classic jumping joy with a warm retro heart.
