Anime Workshop for Nintendo 3DS

About Anime Workshop for Nintendo 3DS

Anime Workshop is a friendly creative tool that teaches you how to draw in a classic anime style. It starts with simple faces and expressions, then slowly adds hair, eyes, clothing and full characters. Lessons are broken into small steps, so even a complete beginner can follow along and finish a picture that looks neat and lively on the small screen.

You work with the stylus on the touch screen, tracing guides, picking colors and adding shading where the lesson suggests. Finished pieces can be saved and revisited, and free drawing space lets you practice what you learned without any rules. It feels more like a calm art class than a test, which makes it perfect for quiet afternoons and slow practice sessions. The presentation makes smart use of the small screen, with clear menus and scenes that stay easy to read in handheld play. Short sessions suit the hardware well, so it is easy to enjoy a little progress on a bus ride or during a quiet break.

Buying Anime Workshop today takes a little patience. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible. The honest way to play now is a physical cartridge bought from a retailer or a trusted game shop. People who bought the game digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games on their system, so long time owners have not lost their copies.

It earns its place in any thoughtful handheld collection.
